My radio career began in 1985 at Fanshawe College in London. But that's not exactly true. I seem to remember a close-circuit radio station called WEXR at my old high school.(My big break!)  The station was set up in a closet at Wexford Collegiate on Pharmacy Avenue and we would broadcast to the cafeteria during lunch periods. It was tough to know what to play to the audience back then. Would it be The Allan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd or Genesis? Or maybe something from one or those brand new edgy artists like The Pretenders or John Cougar? And if I wasn't trying to get through a lunch hour of requests(!!!), it was DJ-ing the school dance or covering the morning announcements. Humble beginnings? Yes. And mostly forgotten until I recently found an old year book that confirms all this.

I graduated from Fanshawe in 1987 and began a broadcasting journey that started in London and took me to Owen Sound, Toronto, Wingham, Windsor-Detroit and finally Sudbury. Along the way, I met my lovely wife, Nancy.  We live happily in Sudbury's south end. Over the last number of years here I've met a lot of great people. Whether guest-hosting on a telethon, emceeing a golf tournament or calling a live auction, the people of Sudbury have made me feel welcome, thank you.

I like to stay active and fit. And when I can get my car to make the turn on to Brady Street once again, I'll make tracks for the YMCA. I'm supposed to be working out 2 to 3 times per week. I've been slacking off. I'm a Seinfeld junky and a big Star Trek fan from way way back. I love reading periodicals, trips to Dairy Queen and trying to get some sleep.(My workdays start at 3:30a.m.)

And as one of my favourite broadcasters said, "Please, give me something to laugh at. Life is already way too serious for cryin' out loud!"
