Kate Maki
In the summer of 2003, Sudburian Kate Maki made the bold decision to leave her comfortable job as a grade school teacher and set out to pursue a career in music. Her first record, Confusion Unlimited, was a spark, the genesis of a voice, intrinsic and entirely her own. While touring regularly in support of Confusion Unlimited and opening for some of Canada's great artists, Kate developed a small, firm following of fans, who no doubt were responding to her sincerity, truth and talent. In her travels, she befriended a number of fantastic musicians and asked Dale Murray, Nathan Lawr, Serge Samson, Ruth Minnikin and Ryan Bishops to be the band for her second record, The Sun Will Find Us.

The Free Press
The Free Press are: Alex Oliveira, Len Ottesen, Jesse Pitcher, James Dallas Smith and Mick Torbay and the idea is simple. Focus on what's important: memorable melodies, captivating stories, stark honesty and an unrelenting commitment to where the music grows; the live show. Formed in Toronto in 2003, band members have been friends and collaborators for years but decided to work together out of mutual respect for each other's writing style, musical influences and a similar inability to imagine doing anything else with their lives. Everyone in the band sings. A lot. Because each member has a different voice and carries a unique story. Oliveira is an award winning comedian and singer. Ottesen is a former political analyst and academic. Pitcher is a musical bright light in his native Australia. Smith is a professional actor. Torbay is a top rated commercial jingle writer. They use these varied backgrounds in everything from their compositions to the live presentation.

Angie Nussey
Over the past six years, Angie Nussey has managed to successfully make the leap from 'up and coming artist' to 'accomplished leader' in Canada's music scene. Raised in Lively, Angie began songwriting at the age of 7. Having written and composed over 100 songs before her first public performance, she intended to work towards a career in medicine. However, one year of University, a summer of tree-planting, and a near death experience that resulted in heart surgery concluded with Angie shedding all illusions about becoming anything other than a professional artist. The result is a career that has garnered her acclaim as having the ability to express inward feelings and emotion, powerfully tell a story, and poetically convey the feelings of heartbreak in a style that is often both comedic and confessional.

Chad Vinkle
Chad Vinkle is ready to take his Northern Ontario sound to the masses. Chad describes his music as “Back-beatin' acoustic rock to lower tempo introspective about family and life that is reminiscent of guitar based rockers ala Tom Petty and John Mellencamp to the warm contemporary sound of Blue Rodeo”. Chad had been dabbling in music for many years and has played in cover bands but it wasn’t until his daughter was born that he had even more inspiration to go back into writing.
